This four-part article series explains how patients can save tens of thousands of dollars on the cost of new, fixed teeth with the “All-On-4™” dental implant technique.
Welcome back to our four-part article series on “All-On-4™” dental implants and how this “breakthrough” technique in fixed oral rehabilitation has made it tens of thousands of dollars cheaper for New Jersey residents to get new teeth. In our two previous article posts, dental implants professionals explained the following key features of this protocol:
- “All-On-4™” dental implants typically avoid the need for bone grafting, which saves patients the money they would otherwise have to spend on having this additional procedure done.
- The “All-On-4™” only requires four dental implants in order to provide New Jersey residents with a complete set of new teeth. Older techniques could require six, eight or even 10 dental implants per jaw. Fewer implants = lower cost of getting new teeth.
- The “All-On-4™” only typically requires a single procedure in order for patients to get new teeth. Traditional dental implant approaches could see a patient spending up to a year-and-a-half going in and out of surgery.
With only one procedure, four implants and no bone grafting, it’s no surprise why All-On-4 dental implants work out tens of thousands of dollars cheaper than traditional dental implant techniques. But what about other teeth replacement solutions? How does the “All-On-4™” compare with the conventional alternative to dental implants, namely, removable dentures? In this article, the third installment of the series, we shall be addressing this cost comparison…
Comparing “All-On-4™” and Removable Dentures
Any dentist worth his or her salt will tell you that dental implants offer a far superior teeth replacement solution to removable dentures and yet countless patients still opt for the latter technology. Why is this? Removable dentures cost a few hundred dollars to have fitted, whereas dental implants may cost tens of thousands of dollars. But before you break into a sweat of concern, there are some important facts you need to remember…
- Removable dentures are not a one-time investment. They require refitting every couple of years (and then more frequently) as your jawbone changes shape. So you may pay a couple hundred dollars to have your teeth replaced initially, but this is an expense you will be paying again and again as your jaw atrophies and wastes away.
- “All-On-4™” dental implants help to preserve the health of the underlying jawbone, which keeps atrophy at bay. Dental implants also typically last several decades without the need for the replacement of the bridgework they support, which means that they’re almost always a one-time expense. Money aside, you also get to keep a healthy jaw and your youthful facial contours!
- Removable dentures tend to shift around and cause problems such as painful gums and oral sores. They also require removal for cleaning after meals and at nighttime. As such, patients find themselves spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars over the years on repeat expenses, including anesthetic ointments, adhesive strips and overnight soaking solutions. The cost of denture products adds up in the long run!
- “All-On-4™” dental implants are cared and maintained similar to natural teeth and don’t typically require any additional repeat expenses like dentures do. Just a toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss are sufficient to keep your new teeth in excellent condition!
