Dental Implants: Superior Tooth Replacement Solution to Dentures in Pueblo, PART 3

This article, part 3 of 4, takes a comprehensive look at the benefits of dental implants as a tooth replacement solution over traditional removable dentures.

In our previous two article posts on dental implants and removable dentures in Pueblo, we discussed how the former offers a more functional and comfortable tooth replacement solution to patients suffering from rampant tooth loss and edentulism (not having a single original adult tooth left). In this, the third installment of a four-part series, we shall examine how dental implants allow for far more natural and long-lasting smile aesthetics than removable dentures in Pueblo. Since our smile plays a fundamental role in all of our social interactions and communications, enabling patients to smile comfortably and with confidence is one of the most important benefits offered by dental implants.

Dental Implants versus Dentures in Pueblo: Smile Aesthetics

As it was discussed in the first article in this series, removable dentures in Pueblo rely upon the underlying gums and jaw bone ridge for support. They are also fabricated with 'flanges', regions of additional peripheral mass, which are meant to provide further stability or support to the dentures in the mouth. Unfortunately though, bulky removable dentures in Pueblo push on the lips from the inside, giving them a thin and stretched appearance. This alone can add year's onto a patient's appearance. But this is far from the worst of it….

Dentures in Pueblo do nothing to prevent jaw bone atrophy and the subsequent deterioration of bone volume in the jaw. You see, bone tissue, just like any muscle in the body, requires stimulation and 'exercise' in order to remain healthy and alive. The roots of the teeth are responsible for providing this essential source of stimulation, so when they are lost and left without a replacement, the underlying jaw bone tissue begins to atrophy and waste away. Dental implants replace the entire missing tooth, from the root to the crown, which restores this stimulation, promoting excellent jaw bone health. But dentures in Pueblo do not and as such, the jaw bone slowly but steadily wastes away resulting in that aged and sunken appearance we typically associate with the elderly.

It is for this reason that dentures in Pueblo require refitting every few years or so. Not because they themselves are getting worn down, but because the jaw bone itself is changing in shape! The loss of bone volume in the jaw has a devastating effect upon a patient's natural youthful facial contours. Ironically enough, jaw bone atrophy can become so advanced that removable dentures in Pueblo are simply no longer able to be fitted, necessitating the placement of dental implants anyway! It's that, or patients will just have to live without any teeth replacement technology.

Remember, dental implants promote a healthy jaw bone and because they function just like natural teeth (being supported directly by the jaw), they can be used to support a dental bridge that doesn't need additional bulk or mass.
